Jurisdictional-Scale Crediting for REDD+: An Architecture to Ensure Social and Environmental Integrity
March 09, 2023 - 12:00 PM
Reducing tropical deforestation is critical to achieve the climate goals of the Paris Agreement. We must urgently scale results and finance to protect and restore tropical forests, which is why REDD+ is transitioning to jurisdictional scale and why market-based crediting mechanisms, such as ART, are being implemented to complement non-market finance. In this session we will explore the role of standards for ensuring environmental and social integrity of jurisdictional REDD+ results.
