Speaker Biography
Roselyn Fosuah Adjei works with the Forestry Commission (FC) of Ghana as the Director for Climate Change and Ghana’s REDD+ Coordinator. The FC is the State agency mandated with the sustainable development of Ghana’s Forest and Wildlife Resources. She has been with the Commission for 16 years with a career spanning work on sustainable forest management activities with 13 years of these being spent working actively on Climate change mitigation and adaptation.
Recently awarded a Distinguished Humphrey Fellowship by the Unites States Department of State, Roselyn is recognised for her immense leadership in building and designing inclusive and transformative forest sector climate action programs and projects that foster cross sectoral partnerships, particularly with government agencies, local communities and Private sector. She has expertise in the design of benefit sharing schemes for forest carbon initiatives, resource mobilization, Emission Reductions project development and implementation and the formation of landscape level governance structures. She currently manages a diverse portfolio of forest landscape programs with funding support from the FCPF, GCF, UNDP and FAO, addressing agriculture led deforestation and forest degradation to increase production particularly for important national commodities such as Cocoa and Shea whilst aggressively restoring forest cover and empowering local communities towards a 1.5 degrees Celsius world. Roselyn is a Board member of the Architecture for REDD+ Transactions (ART) and also the United Nations REDD+ (UN-REDD) program. She holds a Masters Degree in Carbon Management from The University of Edinburgh, Scotland and a first degree in Natural Resources Management from The Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology in Ghana.
