Speaker Biographies

William Boyd

William Boyd is Professor of Law and Michael J. Klein Chair at UCLA School of Law, Professor at UCLA’s Institute of Environment and Sustainability, and Faculty Co-Director of the Emmett Institute on Climate Change and the Environment.  His primary research and teaching interests are in energy law and regulation, climate change law and policy, and environmental law.  Since 2009, he has served as the project lead for the Governors’ Climate and Forests Task Force. 

Jason Gray

Jason is an environmental attorney and climate policy expert who serves as Project Director of the Governors’ Climate and Forests Task Force (GCF Task Force) at the Emmett Institute on Climate Change and the Environment at UCLA School of Law. He previously served as an attorney, manager, and then chief of California’s Cap and-Trade Program at the California Air Resources Board. Jason has worked with the U.S. Peace Corps and WWF in the Central African country of Gabon. He received a B.A. in Biology and French from Gonzaga University, and a J.D. and Certificate in Environmental and Natural Resources Law from Lewis & Clark Law School.
