Yale-Myers Forest Summer Research Seminar Series
June 10 – July 22, 2026
The Yale-Myers Forest invites you to join us for a series of talks on current research and practices in forestry — or forests in general!
Seminars are now offered in a hybrid format, both in person at Yale-Myers Forest Camp at 150 Centre Pike Rd. in Eastford, CT, and live via Zoom.
The speakers for this series are:
- June 10 - Jenn Fair, ‘10 MEM, ‘18 PhD, Research Hydrologist, U.S. Geological Survey, Eastern Ecological Science Center, “Images to Info: the USGS Flow Photo Explorer Tool”
- June 24 - Oswald Schmitz, PhD, Oastler Professor of Population and Community Ecology, Yale School of the Environment, “From local to global: how conserving and restoring wildlife species can help mitigate climate change”
- July 8 - Nat Burr, ‘26 MFS, The Forest School at the Yale School of the Environment. “American ginseng in the northeast: Using genetics to understand a rare and treasured plant”
- July 22 - Jeffrey T. Miller, Ph.D, Research Assistant Professor, Department of Molecular, Cellular, & Biomedical Sciences, University of New Hampshire, “Spider Webs and Climate Resilient Forests: A New Tool for Monitoring Biodiversity and Species of Concern”
Join us every other Wednesday from June 10 to July 22, from 6:30-7:30 p.m. EDT.
