Smallholder Planted Forests and Trees for Climate, Restored Landscapes, and Livelihoods Guest Facilitator: Faustine Zoveda

Faustine Zoveda -  Forestry Officer, Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO)

a French national, joined the team as forestry officer in 2022. She focuses on planted forests and restoration, especially afforestation and reforestation. She provides technical assistance to countries (at present: Madagascar, Sao Tome e Principe, Malawi), leads the development of knowledge products and initiatives (in 2022-2023: Unasylva, Yale webinar series, International Congress on planted forests) and supports the Secretariat of the IPC. From 2016 to 2022, as officer with FAO’s Forest and Landscape Restoration Mechanism, she provided technical guidance in the implementation of projects integrating restoration, natural resources management and sustainable agriculture in Burkina-Faso, Guinea, Madagascar, Malawi, the Niger, Rwanda, Sao Tome e Principe, and Uganda. She supported resource mobilization through bilateral and multilateral partners, and knowledge development especially in the context of the UN Decade on Ecosystem Restoration. She joined FAO in 2013, focusing on sustainable agriculture. Prior to that, Faustine has worked in the consulting business. 

Faustine is an Agronomist with a MSc in Ecology from AgroParisTech (France).
